We had heard the buzz about Skinnygirl® Margaritas a while back and several of our customers were even asking us about when we were going to start carrying this hot new low calorie ready to serve cocktail at Foodland.
Well, we brought in Skinnygirl® Margaritas late last year, and it surprised us in two ways: 1. How great it tasted for a so called "low calorie" beverage and 2. How hard it was to keep it on the shelves!
Have you tried cooking with coconut oil yet?
It has become a staple in my house, but often when I tell people about this wonderful oil, I hear something to the effect of, “aren’t tropical oils bad for you?” I also heard a lot about coconut oil being high in saturated fat, which didn’t sound good either.
One of our favorite Hawaii Grown fruits is in season and on sale this week at your local Foodland and Sack N Save stores. A couple of months ago, a group of thirty volunteers from our Foodland and Sack N Save ohana returned to Maʻo Farms in Waianae’s Lualualei Valley for our much anticipated quarterly GIVE day (Get Involved, Volunteer Environmentally). We all looked forward to spending the morning working in the fields planting, weeding and harvesting, but more importantly reconnecting with the knowledgeable and passionate student interns and staff at Maʻo. Since this was our fourth visit over the past ... more »
With all the beautiful sunny weather we've had recently, our local lychee farmers have been sharing news that the sunny days have made for a good lychee season. We've worked with several Hawaii farms to bring you sweet and juicy lychee that is perfect to enjoy on these hot summer days.

Anybody remember that Reese’s Peanut butter commercial (I might be dating myself here) where the guys are walking around the corner…one is eating chocolate and the other is eating peanut butter. They bump into each other and create a truly wonderful flavor combination. Well…it took a few decades but that winning combination of chocolate and peanut butter might have just got beat out by coconut and peanut butter! I just finished my first jar of Earth Balance Coconut and Peanut Spread ... more »

The term “Artisan” has been sort of loosely thrown about lately, but what does it really mean? Well, the definition of "artisan" is a person or company that makes a high-quality, distinctive product in small quantities, usually by hand and using traditional methods...
So when I think of truly "Artisan" foods, Cristiano Creminelli and his line of handcrafted cured meats made from old time family recipes comes to mind.
We now have Sweet & Juicy Gold Nugget Tangerines available at your local Foodland! Gold Nugget Tangerines are so easy to peel you’ll be enjoying their juicy, seedless segments in seconds! The season for this Tangerine is only through May, so you’ll need to enjoy it while it’s here. This is my personal favorite Tangerine, and while I really enjoy Clementine’s as well, I think the Gold Nugget Tangerine is even sweeter and juicer.
All of us foodies that watch every Chef and Food show on the Food Network could not help but notice the new wine being talked about on the Food Network. Wente Winery and the Food Network have partnered together to craft a new wine called ENTWINE wine. The goal was to offer everyday wine for everyday people to enjoy with everyday food. No foo-foo fancy foods, and no wines that you need a second mortgage to purchase.
