I love to eat! I have a long list of my favorite foods and places where I enjoy eating at. I guess you could say I take eating for granted. When I realized that so many Hawaii families don’t have that luxury, I began to understand the importance of supporting our local food banks. Many years ago, a young man from Ireland had a dream of leaving his homeland and coming to America. With just $7 in his pocket he headed to New York, then Hawaii, and in 1948 opened the first Foodland store. High school seniors also have great dreams.
