Share a Holiday Feast
Our Share a Holiday Feast program began 24 years ago, the brainchild of a generous Pukalani, Maui customer who purchased several extra turkeys and asked our store director to give them to needy families in the area. She called to tell us that she believed other customers would like to do the same, and asked whether Foodland could help make it possible. Our company founder, Maurice J. Sullivan, was agreeable to the idea and, in the first year of the program, customers provided over 500 holiday meals to those in need.
Share a Holiday Feast has continued to grow, and our customers continue to tell us it makes them feel good to help others who are less fortunate. To participate in the program, simply tell your cashier that you would like to Share a Holiday Feast. Contributions may be made in the amount of $5, $10 or $20. Individuals and families identified by the Salvation Army, as those who might not otherwise enjoy a turkey dinner for the holidays, will receive Share a Holiday Feast gift certificates.

Jenai Wall, Foodland CEO & Chairman, recently took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by dumping a Foodland Reusable Bag filled with ice over her head and extended the challenge to the Foodland main office and all Foodland store employees across Hawaii!

It's that time of year again and we're partnering with local Farmers and Hawaii's Top Chefs for cooking demonstrations at select Foodland locations in support of the 4th annual Hawaii Food & Wine Festival. Surely it happens to all of us occasionally, but once we realize it, we hardly give it a second thought because we know we can eat almost whenever we please - some families in our communities don't always have that luxury.
We are truly amazed by the generosity of our customers. Despite tough economic conditions for many, our customers always rally for a good cause, and especially when it comes to caring for the extended family of island residents. Thank you very much to everyone who participated in our Kōkua Philippines matching gifts program to support disaster relief efforts from Typhoon Haiyan. Together, through customer donations & a matching gift from the Western Union Foundation, a total of $101,270.00 will be given to the American Red Cross!
