This week I am thrilled to introduce locally grown and assembled Living Garden Succulent Plants. These hardy beauties come to us from the creativity of Terri and Greg Lee who are the owners and designers of 1st Look Exteriors.
Each of the Living Garden Succulent Plants were assembled by hand by Terri and Greg themselves. It amazes me the care, attention and pride that Terri and Greg put into each and every one of these creations.

If you've ever had chickenpox, you have the Varicella-zoster virus lurking in your bloodstream. Since this virus also causes shingles, anyone who's ever had chickenpox can get shingles. About 25 percent of all adults, who may otherwise be healthy, will get shingles during their lifetime. The chance of getting shingles increases with age, so adults over 60 are ten times more likely to get shingles than children under 10. The virus shoots down a nerve, causing the numbness, itching, severe ... more »

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Susie Weaver at Kona Dragonfruit Farm on the Big Island. Let me tell you, I have a whole new appreciation for this unique fruit. Dragonfruit is not easy to grow and requires a lot of meticulous attention. Due to this year's rainy and wet weather, this season's crop was very limited. The few flowers that did grow needed to be hand pollinated at very early in the morning, as this fruit-bearing cactus blooms while it is still dark.
