Perhaps you have a vegetarian coming over for Thanksgiving this year. Seems every family has somebody nowadays that is not eating meat. Struggling over what to feed them? Well, I know that Thanksgiving is all about the Turkey but being a veggie myself, I can tell you that you don’t really need to do anything all that special for your vegetarian family or friends.
One of the things I love about Thanksgiving is all the choices of side dishes. Yams, stuffing, cranberries, pumpkin pie, green bean casserole…Thanksgiving is great! One key thing you can do is keep veggie stuff veggie. For instance, don’t put marshmallows (not vegetarian) on top of all the yams. Another tip is to not use chicken broth in your stuffing…try using vegetable broth instead. Little things like this will make your veggie guests feel welcome.
We are having a Tofurky this year! Well, we have a Tofurky just about every year as it has become a tradition in our household.
The Tofurky has been around since 1995 and made from Organic Tofu and non-GMO ingredients. I love the stuffing inside! I tell my wife every year that the leftovers make great sandwiches. She is quick to point out that there are never any leftovers and wonders what I am going on about. Maybe I buy two this year…
Available at most Foodland stores for $14.99 and worth every bite! You will want to defrost it in the ice box the night before to speed up the cooking process. Need any other pointers for a wonderful veggie feast??? Just let me know.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
