Last minute Wine shopping for Thanksgiving? Headed out the door to a Thanksgiving party and not sure what to bring? Not to worry, here are some simple guidelines:
Not sure of the group, or new to wine, we suggest three easy, sure-to-please choices...
Buy a nice sparkling wine: We have great Sparklers for any budget, and a nice Bubbly always gets the party started. If you are not sure, steer away from the very dry sparklers (Brut) and go for a sweet and delicious Moscato D'Asti. We love the Brovita and the Risata D'Asti's!
White wine: Stay with the less dry wine, like Gewurtraminers (hard to say, but easy to drink) or Rieslings go great with the Turkey meal and are soft and easy enough for most guests.
Red wine: Go with a Pinot Noir or a Blended red. You want a red wine with a fruity charater to match up with the bird and the side dishes. Try Silver Ridge Pinot Noir or Menage a Trois Blended red.
Need a prestige wine? We have the best deals in town on Silver Oak, Far Niente, Jordon, “J” cuvee, Raymond, Seghesio, Rombauer, and many more. Come see us.
Not a wine crowd? We have some great holiday beers, check out the expanded selection. We like the Sierra Nevada Celebration, the Jube Ale from Deschutes, and Rouge's Morimoto Soba.
Most of all - relax, have fun, sip easy, and spend 20 minutes really listening to a family elder, you will be pleased at what you learn. Have a great Turkey Day!
