Ingredients

1⁄4Cuphoisin
2Tablespoonsoy sauce
3Tablespoonhoney
1 1⁄2TablespoonChinese rice wine or dry sherry or sake
1TeaspoonChinese five spice powder
1 1⁄2Poundpork spare ribs, or butt, cut in to 2 inch strips

Instructions

Char Siu

  1. Combine ingredients and mix.
  2. Marinate overnight.
  3. Place in a pre-heated oven at 400° and roast for 45 minutes, basting every 15 minutes with extra sauce.
  4. Broil for the last 15 minutes checking every 5 minutes. The pork should have nice charring on the edges of the pieces.
