|1||each||garlic clove, minced|
|1⁄4||Cup||dried bread crumbs|
|1⁄4||Teaspoon||ground black pepper|
|1||Pound||lean turkey meat|
|26||Ounce||tomato sauce or store-bought marinara sauce|
Turkey Meatballs with Tomato Sauce
- Add the onion, garlic, egg, milk, bread crumbs, ketchup, Parmesan, salt and pepper to a large bowl and blend. Mix in the turkey. Shape the turkey mixture into 2 inch-diameter meatballs. Reserve on a plate.
- Heat the tomato sauce and bring to a slow simmer. Place all the meatballs into the pan. Turn the heat to medium-low and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and the meatballs cook through, about 15 to 20 minutes. Adjust for seasoning.
- You may add pasta to the sauce and heat, or pour sauce over hot pasta and garnish with meatballs and parmesan.
