Ingredients

2Cupbread crumbs or panko
2Clovegarlic, finely chopped
1piece(s)thumb sized piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
1eachmedium onion, finely chopped
1stalkcelery, finely chopped
1eachmedium carrot, finely chopped
1 1⁄2Poundground beef, extra lean
1 1⁄2Poundground pork
1⁄4Pounddiced portuguese sausage or lup cheong
1eachlarge egg
1⁄4Cupketchup
1TablespoonColemans dry mustard
1TablespoonWorcestershire sauce
 eachCoarse salt and freshly ground pepper

Glaze

1⁄4CupBBQ Sauce
1⁄4Cuphoisin sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Combine the ingredients for the meatloaf; mix together using your hands. Combine well.
  3. Transfer mixture to a pre greased 5-by-9-inch loaf pan or two small one pound pans.
  4. Stir together ingredients for glaze and blend until smooth; brush onto meat.
  5. Set pan on a rimmed baking sheet, and bake until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reaches 160 degrees, about 1 hour 20 minutes.
  6. Let cool slightly.
