We are deeply saddened by the devastation Typhoon Haiyan has caused in the Philippines. We know that many Hawaii people would like to help financially with the relief efforts. Foodland has begun accepting donations which will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, by the Western Union. We encourage you to make a $5, $10 or $20 donation at any Foodland or Sack N Save checkout through December 8th. The donation amount will be added to your grocery purchase total.
Our Chairman and CEO, Jenai S. Wall, released this statement, “Many of our customers and employees have family members in the Philippines and so we want to do what we can to help. We invite everyone to participate because together our combined donations, which will be doubled by the Western Union Foundation, will add up to much needed support for the people of the Philippines during this time of crisis.”
All donations will be sent to the American Red Cross to support their relief efforts in the Philippines on behalf of Foodland and our customers as soon as our program ends. We deeply appreciate and thank you for your generosity. Together, we can send our aloha to help the Philippines.
